Spaces For Change Boosts Community Safety and Resilience in Bayelsa State

Spaces For Change (S4C) is collaborating with partners like Open Society Foundation and Dataphyt Foundation to strengthen community resilience and public safety in Bayelsa State. The project involves promoting local safety structures, enhancing early warning systems, and fostering community resilience, especially in high-risk areas like Southern Ijaw and Yenagoa.

Stakeholder engagements have identified key security issues such as theft, communal clashes, gender-based violence, and drug abuse. Initiatives include training and empowering local groups like vigilante organizations and cooperatives to improve security, livelihoods, and community resilience.
