Spain to Face Serbia in Friendly After Finalissima Cancelled

The Spanish Football Federation has announced that Spain will replace the cancelled Finalissima match against Argentina with a friendly against Serbia on March 27. The Finalissima, which was set to occur in Qatar, was called off due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, specifically following US-Israeli strikes in Iran on February 28 that disrupted the region.

UEFA confirmed the cancellation, stating that Argentina did not accept alternative dates or venues. The friendly against Serbia will be held at Estadio de la Cerámica, the home ground of Villarreal CF.

Additionally, Spain is scheduled to face Egypt in another match on March 30. This change comes as Spain prepares for the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
