Speaker Abbas Stumbles During Rally Amid Attention Grab

During a rally at Mallawa Eid Ground, Speaker Abbas was momentarily destabilized when an individual pulled his agbada while he was addressing supporters. The incident, which was captured on video, drew significant attention before the clip was taken down.

Sources close to Speaker Abbas clarified that the individual was not attempting an attack but was seeking the Speaker's attention due to a medical condition, as the person's hand appeared swollen. Speaker Abbas was at the rally to formally announce his intent to seek a fifth term as House Representative for the Zaria Federal Constituency.

He emphasized that his candidacy is based on his track record, including sponsoring 74 bills, of which 21 have been signed into law, rather than mere promises. Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker's media aide, was unavailable for comment regarding the incident.
