Zaria Resident Apologizes for Grabbing Speaker's Robe

During a recent political gathering in Zaria, Ahmad Saidu publicly apologized for grabbing the robe of Speaker Abbas Tajudeen. Saidu explained that his actions were driven by desperation due to a long-standing medical condition affecting his right hand, which had been severely injured in a fracture accident.

He had initially received treatment at the Traditional Orthopaedic Centre in Zaria and was later referred to the Nigerian Army Hospital in Kaduna for further care. However, financial difficulties hindered his ability to continue treatment.

Saidu attended the event in hopes of receiving assistance from the Speaker. When he approached, he inadvertently grabbed the Speaker's robe, which led to immediate intervention by security.

He expressed regret for the incident, emphasizing that he did not intend to embarrass the Speaker. Saidu's father, Malam Sa Idu Ibrahim Abubakar, also apologized, stating that political opponents had exploited the situation.

The Speaker has reportedly agreed to cover Saidu's medical expenses, showcasing his compassion and support.
