Man Allegedly Beats Lover to Death in Rivers State

In Rivers State, a man allegedly assaulted his lover, resulting in her death. The incident took place on Abraham Street in the Eneka Community, Obio Akpor Local Government Area.

The suspect confronted the deceased on Saturday, accusing her of being unfaithful. Following her denial, a physical confrontation ensued, during which the woman fell and hit her head against a sharp edge of a wall, causing severe injuries.

Neighbors, upon hearing her cries for help, attempted to revive her but found her in a pool of blood. The Eneka Police Division, led by Division Police Officer SP Lewi, responded to the distress call and arrested the suspect, who was already restrained by residents.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was confirmed dead. Her body was subsequently deposited in a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

ASP Bless Kaborlo Agab, a police spokesperson in Rivers State, confirmed that the suspect is in custody and that an investigation is ongoing to ensure justice.
