Stakeholders Push for 'Ibadan 4.0' Jobs and Infrastructure

Stakeholders in Ibadan are intensifying calls for job creation and infrastructure upgrades under the 'Ibadan 4.0' agenda. This initiative seeks urgent intervention to sustain growth and address issues such as unemployment, weak infrastructure, and declining social services.

The agenda was a core discussion at the 2026 Ibadan Conference organized by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), which honored Oba Rasidi Ladoja. Dr.

Adesola Adeduntan, Pro-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, emphasized the necessity of a coordinated action plan to prevent stagnation. He noted that Ibadan's future requires collective ownership and alignment of vision among stakeholders.

Guest speaker Prof. Abiodun Aibinu from Summit University Offa highlighted the importance of embracing a knowledge-driven economy and integrating traditional governance structures with modern systems.

He warned that without addressing these issues, Ibadan risks deepening economic and social inequities. The conference also featured the introduction of the annual cultural festival aimed at fostering policy dialogue and community engagement.
