Stakeholders Urge Reforms for Ibadan's Infrastructure

Stakeholders in Ibadanland have emphasized the urgent need for reforms to tackle significant infrastructure deficits and rising unemployment. This call to action was made during the 2026 Ibadan Conference, organized by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes and held at Bode Amao Hall in Ibadan North Local Government Area on Tuesday.

Keynote speaker Kazeem Adeduntan, who is the chair of the occasion, stressed that Ibadan's future is at risk if stakeholders do not align behind a shared vision. Abiodun Aibinu, Vice Chancellor of the University of Offa, highlighted the critical need for stakeholders to prioritize job creation and infrastructure development.

He outlined three immediate priorities: employment stabilization, infrastructure improvement, and skill development. The conference also aimed to deepen intellectual engagement and policy dialogue within the cultural festival framework, honoring Oba Rashidi Ladoja for his leadership.

Prominent figures in attendance included dignitaries and representatives from various sectors, all advocating for grassroots-driven governance reforms.
