During a meeting held in Lagos, stakeholders, including Dr. Sey Oyeley, the Director General of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria, and Dr. Oluyinka Olumid from the Lagos State Commission of Physical Planning, stressed the importance of collaboration among South-West states for effective urban development. They highlighted the challenges arising from rapid population growth and urban migration, which have led to increased pressure on infrastructure and housing. Oyeley urged the region to avoid working in silos and instead develop a coordinated framework to address these challenges collectively. Wahe Kadiri presented a focus on integrating South-West development to meet basic needs rather than competing for revenue. The meeting aimed to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among stakeholders to create a shared vision for sustainable urban planning in the region.
