Stakeholders Develop Framework for State Police in South-West

On Thursday, stakeholders in South-West Nigeria convened to facilitate the development of an operational framework for state police, aimed at addressing pressing security issues such as kidnapping and banditry in the region. The technical session, held at the DAWN Commission headquarters in Cocoa House, Dugbe, Ibadan, was led by Dr.

Sey Oyelade, the Director General of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN). Dipo Famakinwa, the head of the DAWN Commission, also participated in the discussions.

This meeting was organized in response to the growing momentum at the federal level for the establishment of state police, ensuring that stakeholders are not caught unaware as they prepare for this significant development in regional security management.
