Standard Chartered Trains 600 Nigerians in Digital Skills

Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited has collaborated with Junior Achievement Nigeria to provide digital skills training to more than 600 young Nigerians through a 10-day bootcamp. This initiative will take place across Ondo, Abuja, Rivers, and Kaduna states, focusing on practical training in areas such as project management, data analysis, cybersecurity, UI/UX design, IT support, and digital marketing.

The program specifically targets graduates, National Youth Service Corps members, women, and young individuals from low-income communities to address digital skills gaps and enhance access to opportunities in Nigeria's digital economy. Olaolu Akogun, Acting Executive Director of Junior Achievement Nigeria, emphasized the importance of partnerships in creating lasting impacts.

Joke Adu, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited, stated that empowering youth with future-ready skills is crucial for community support. The program also allows Standard Chartered employees to volunteer and mentor participants, reinforcing the bank's commitment to economic inclusion and community development.
