Hamzat's Housing Advice Sparks Debate in Lagos

Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, responded to a question regarding housing affordability for young individuals earning around N100,000 monthly, amidst rising accommodation costs of approximately N1 million per year. He advised that unmarried young people should consider living with parents or sharing accommodation, keeping housing expenses to no more than 40% of their income.

Hamzat emphasized that real growth is incremental and starting small is a strategic approach rather than a defeat.
