Sterling One Foundation Champions Gender Inclusion at AU Summit

The Sterling One Foundation actively participated in the African Union Summit held in Addis Ababa, where it engaged with distinguished African leaders, including John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana, and Muhammed B.S. Jallow, Vice President of Gambia.

The summit aimed to reaffirm Africa's commitment to gender inclusion and financial strategies that empower women and youth. Key discussions highlighted the necessity of mobilizing catalytic capital and strengthening institutional frameworks to embed gender-responsive financing within macroeconomic systems.

Prudence Nonkululeko Ngwenya, Director of Women, Gender, and Youth at the African Union Commission, urged stakeholders to move beyond rhetoric and take concrete actions to ensure African women are empowered. Olapeju Ibekwe, Chief Executive Officer of the Sterling One Foundation, emphasized that Africa's economic transformation depends on intentional financing for women and youth-led enterprises.

The summit also set the stage for the upcoming Africa Social Impact Summit in 2026, aiming to create bankable investment partnerships across the continent.
