Group Defends Plateau State Against Dalung's Claims

The Plateau Advocates for Peace and Coexistence, represented by spokesperson Bulu Ayuba, condemned former Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung for his remarks suggesting that Plateau State is unsafe for travel. Ayuba characterized Dalung's claims as misleading and damaging, arguing that they could deter visitors and investors from the state.

While acknowledging that rural communities in Plateau have faced attacks, Ayuba insisted that these incidents do not represent the entire state and should not diminish its reputation for peace and hospitality. He emphasized that Plateau continues to show resilience and unity despite security challenges.

The group urged the public to disregard Dalung's assertions, maintaining that major routes such as those linking Abuja, Bauchi, and Gombe remain safe for travel and business activities. Ayuba further stated that Plateau is a haven for thousands of internally displaced persons fleeing insecurity from other regions, reinforcing the state's commitment to peace and tourism.
