GTCO Autism Conference 2026: Emphasizing Acceptance

As preparations intensify for the 16th annual GTCO Autism Conference, stakeholders and behavioral experts are urging a significant cultural shift in the treatment of neurodivergent individuals. The conference, themed “Acceptance in Action,” aims to move beyond mere awareness to promote tangible changes in families, schools, workplaces, and society.

Oyinade Adegite, Chief Communication Officer at Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO), emphasized that true acceptance is rooted in empathy, particularly in a challenging economic environment. The conference will occur on July 27 and 28, 2026, at the MUSON Centre in Lagos, featuring global and local experts, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.

Following the main event, free one-on-one consultations with medical and developmental specialists will be available from July 29 to August 1 at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja. Adegite reflected on the journey of the GTCO Autism Programme, which has been a crucial platform for education and community engagement over the past 16 years.
