Wike Urges PDP to Reclaim Defectors Ahead of 2027 Elections

During a visit to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters at Wadata Plaza in Abuja on Friday, Nyesom Wike, a prominent party leader, called on the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to focus on bringing back members who have defected. Wike asserted that the PDP remains the main opposition party in Nigeria, contrasting it with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which he claimed cannot be considered a major opposition party without electoral victories.

He highlighted the need for hard work and sacrifice to restore the party's lost glory and urged party members to support the upcoming elections. Wike expressed confidence in the leadership's ability to revitalize the party and emphasized the importance of unity among members.

He criticized those who defect from the party, stating that such actions undermine the party's strength. The PDP's national chairman, Mohammed, welcomed Wike's call and assured that the new leadership is committed to strengthening the party in preparation for the 2027 elections.
