Wike Urges PDP Governors to Return Mandates at Convention

Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, delivered a significant address at the People's Democratic Party (PDP) national convention held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. He declared that the PDP has been returned to its rightful owners and urged governors who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to return their mandates to the party.

Wike criticized former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi for abandoning the PDP and emphasized the need for true reconciliation within the party. He highlighted the importance of grassroots support and the rejection of opportunistic elites, stating that the party must focus on unity and inclusivity to recover from recent leadership struggles.

Wike also commended the INEC for its role in monitoring the convention and called for a roadmap that includes grassroots empowerment and adherence to the rule of law. He concluded by stressing the importance of stakeholders standing together to ensure the PDP's success in the upcoming 2027 elections.
