Taraba Students Union Demands Investigation into Assault

The National Union of Taraba State Students (NUTSS) has condemned an alleged physical assault on a student by security personnel at Taraba State University. In a press statement, the union described the incident as unacceptable and stressed that no student should be subjected to violence or humiliation.

Yusuf Yahaya Inuwa, the union's vice president, highlighted the importance of following established disciplinary procedures and due process in cases of misconduct. The union noted that security personnel are tasked with maintaining order and ensuring safety on campus, and any form of physical assault is prohibited.

They called on Dr. Atando Dauda Agbu, the Dean of Student Affairs, to initiate an urgent investigation into the matter and take appropriate action.

The union also urged students to remain calm and abide by the law, avoiding any violent retaliation that could escalate tensions. They reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the rights, dignity, and welfare of students at Taraba State University.
