Okun Students Association Demands Security Overhaul After Attack

The Okun Students Association condemned a bandit attack that occurred on Wednesday at a secondary school in Iluk Bunu, Kogi State, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including the vice principal and a six-year-old child. The attack, which took place around 10:00 AM, has heightened concerns about the worsening security situation in Okunland.

In a statement signed by the association's president, Olu Opeyemi, they expressed alarm over the increasing frequency of kidnappings, killings, and violent attacks in the region. The association urged traditional rulers, political office holders, security agencies, and community leaders to convene an urgent security summit to develop a coordinated response to the growing threats posed by criminal elements.

They emphasized the need for a comprehensive framework to tackle insecurity and called for immediate action to protect innocent lives and ensure safety in daily activities.
