Tinubu’s aide urges students to continue education despite hardship

Comrade Sunday Asefon, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement, stated that no Nigerian student should quit tertiary education due to financial difficulties. He made this declaration on Thursday during the Renewed Hope Student Leaders Engagement and Digital Acceleration Programme for the North-East Zone.

Asefon announced the donation of 25 laptops to exceptional students in Computer Science and Computer Engineering across tertiary institutions in the region. This initiative aims to reward academic excellence and provide necessary digital tools to deserving students.

He emphasized that many top-performing students lack personal laptops, often relying on smartphones for their academic work. Asefon's office has reached out to institutions in the North-East for nominations of outstanding students.

He expressed confidence that providing these laptops would significantly benefit the students and potentially lead to future innovations, stating, “we will have a Bill Gates among them.”.
