JNI Condemns Jos Attack, Calls for Security Reforms

The Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI), under the leadership of Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, condemned the recent attack on the community market in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State, describing it as "heartless" and "utterly reprehensible." In a statement issued by the Secretary General, Prof. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, on Tuesday in Kaduna, the JNI expressed shock over the killings and highlighted a troubling pattern of violence in Plateau State and across Nigeria.

The organization suggested that the attack might have ulterior motives aimed at inciting political and religious turmoil. They emphasized the sanctity of human life and warned that failure to serve justice could lead to further occurrences.

The JNI criticized the government's limited response and called for a thorough investigation into the violence, urging security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible. They also appealed for calm among residents, particularly the youth, and recommended proactive measures to prevent future attacks.
