Super Falcons Announce Squad for WAFCON 2026

The Nigeria Women's National Football Team, known as the Super Falcons, has named a 25-player squad for the 14th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) taking place in Morocco from July 26 to August 16, 2026. The squad is captained by Rasheedat Ajibade, with Chiamaka Nnadozie as the goalkeeper.

Other notable players include Osinachi Ohal, Jennifer Echegini, and Asisat Oshoala. The team features home-based goalkeeper Fatima Oloko and a mix of players from various clubs, including Michel Alozi and Oluwatosin Demehin.

The Super Falcons, who are the defending champions, aim to extend their record to an 11th title. They will face Malawi in their opening match on July 28 at Al Madina Stadium, followed by games against Zambia and Egypt.

The tournament will feature 16 teams, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals, and the fifth-place team earning a spot in the intercontinental playoffs for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
