Super Falcons to Face Cameroon in WAFCON 2026 Friendlies

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Falcons will engage in two high-profile friendly matches against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon. These matches are scheduled to take place in Yaoundé during the FIFA women’s international window from February 24 to March 7, 2026.

This preparation comes as the team aims to regain momentum following a quiet period after their last competitive outing against Benin in October. The NFF's General Secretary, Mohan Sanusi, discussed the arrangements with Isaac Mandong, General Secretary of the Fédération Camerounaise de Football.

The friendly matches will serve as a measure of progress ahead of the 2026 WAFCON, which will be held in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026. The tournament is significant as the four semi-finalists will automatically qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Nigeria has a storied history in WAFCON, having won the title 10 times, with their latest victory occurring in Morocco last summer.
