Cultists Kill 22-Year-Old and Two Others in Lagos

On Wednesday, a violent incident in Oreta Community, Ikorodu, Lagos State, resulted in the deaths of 22-year-old Abdulmalik Bakar and two others, allegedly at the hands of suspected cultists. The violence erupted around 8 PM when armed men on motorcycles opened fire on residents.

Earlier that day, tensions rose when local youths confronted a trailer driver over a payment dispute, leading to a confrontation that escalated into a reprisal attack by gang members later that night. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with the case and is conducting a thorough investigation.

Residents reported a state of panic following the attack, which disrupted business activities in the area. Efforts to obtain comments from the police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
