Herders Attack Eziobodo Community, Injuring Several

On Wednesday night, around 9 PM, suspected herdsmen attacked the Eziobodo community in Imo State, injuring several individuals, including a minor. The Imo State Police Command, led by spokesperson Henri Okoy, confirmed the incident, which triggered a security response involving local vigilantes.

The assailants, reportedly arriving on 20 motorcycles, caused panic among residents, leading to an attempted abduction of a local man. Members of the Ihiagwa vigilante group intervened, pursuing the attackers and rescuing the victim, who sustained injuries.

The police established a violent crime response unit and deployed tactical intelligence teams to enhance security in the area. Preliminary investigations indicated that the abduction attempt was foiled due to the swift actions of local security operatives.

Victims of the attack, including those with gunshot wounds, are currently receiving medical attention in Owerri. The police have assured residents that the situation is under control and urged them to remain vigilant.
