Boko Haram Attack Kautikari Village School, One Dead

On Saturday, around 6:45 PM, suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Kautikari Village in the Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State. They set ablaze a block containing five classrooms and an office at the Government Day Secondary School, resulting in the death of one villager.

The attack was confirmed by Malah Kyari, the Education Secretary for Chibok Local Government Area, who noted that the insurgents faced strong resistance from joint security forces, which helped avert further loss. ASP Nahum Daso from the Borno State Police Command also confirmed the incident, stating that security forces were conducting intense patrols in the area to maintain calm.

Local sources indicated that the terrorists arrived on motorcycles and targeted the school, fleeing the scene after setting it on fire. The extent of the damage caused by the attack has not been fully verified, but it has raised concerns about the safety of educational facilities in the region.
