Armed Groups Attack Borno and Niger, Four Killed

In a series of violent attacks, armed groups targeted communities in Borno and Niger State, leading to significant casualties and property destruction. In Borno, on Saturday evening, gunmen invaded Kautikari in Askira Uba Local Government Area, killing one person and setting ablaze part of Kautikari Junior Secondary School, which included five classrooms.

Local security sources reported that the attack occurred around 7 PM, with no casualties recorded inside the school building. In Niger State, early Saturday, terrorists on approximately 200 motorcycles invaded Pissa community in Borgu Local Government Area, killing three individuals and burning several houses.

Despite the overwhelming numbers of the attackers, local vigilantes, including Jamilu Suleiman, attempted to confront them, resulting in casualties among the vigilantes. The Niger State Police Command confirmed the incidents, stating that military forces engaged the terrorists to prevent further destruction.

Ongoing military operations in the area aim to combat the persistent threat posed by these armed groups.
