Suspected Vandal Found Dead Under Collapsed Tower in Delta

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) reported that a suspected vandal was found dead beneath a collapsed transmission tower in Delta. The discovery occurred during an intensive patrol by TCN’s Delta Sub-Region, Lines Maintenance Department (LMD), after the Ughelli-Benin 330kV transmission line tripped.

The patrol team traced the fault to Tower 101, which had collapsed, and the body was found crushed between the members of this tower. Further inspection revealed that Tower 101 on the adjacent Ughelli-Sapele 330kV transmission line had also been vandalized but remained standing at the time of the report.

TCN condemned the vandalism and urged local communities and the public to report any suspicious activities around power installations to security agencies and TCN offices. The company emphasized that protecting power infrastructure is a civic responsibility and warned that vandalism leads to power outages, damages national assets, and endangers lives.
