NCAA Urges Unions to Suspend Industrial Action Amid Dispute

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has made an appeal to aviation unions to suspend their ongoing industrial action and exercise restraint until the return of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo. In a statement signed by its Director General, Capt Chris Ona Najomo, the NCAA recognized the adverse effects of the industrial action on passengers and stakeholders in the aviation sector.

The NCAA noted that Minister Keyamo has been actively engaged in resolving the issues at the heart of the dispute and is expected to meet with the involved parties upon his return. A meeting convened by the minister last week to address the concerns could not take place due to airline operators not honoring the invitation.

The NCAA called for dialogue and cooperation among all parties, expressing confidence that the dispute would be resolved soon and normal flight operations restored. The authority reassured the public that aviation safety remains uncompromised despite the industrial action and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
