NCAA Appeals to Unions to Halt Strike Disrupting Flights

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has appealed to aviation unions to suspend their ongoing industrial action, which has significantly disrupted flight operations and inconvenienced passengers. This appeal follows a failed peace meeting called by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, due to the absence of airline operators.

NCAA Director-General Chris Najomo acknowledged the impact of the strike on passengers and stakeholders, urging unions to exercise restraint while Keyamo works to resolve the dispute. The unions have halted operations of Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline, exacerbating the situation for travelers.

The NCAA emphasized that aviation safety remains uncompromised and called for dialogue among all parties involved. Air Peace has apologized for the disruptions, assuring affected passengers that they are being updated on the evolving situation.

The NCAA expressed confidence that normal flight operations would resume shortly.
