Nigerian Scholar Abdulmalik Salman Wins US Education Honor

Abdulmalik Salman, a Nigerian scholar and doctoral student, was recognized as the Most Outstanding Graduate in Secondary English Language Arts in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the College of Education during the institution’s 2026 Honors Day. Salman, originally from Ejigbo, Osun State, has a career that includes classroom teaching, language education, educational leadership, and research, focusing on literacy, culturally relevant teaching, and linguistic justice.

He received the award through a nomination by his professors and mentors, expressing gratitude to his PhD advisor, Dr. Latrise P.

Johnson, and Dr. Karen Spector for their support.
