Tanimu Exits Maghreb de Fès, Rules Out NPFL Return

Benjamin Tanimu, a 23-year-old defender, has confirmed that he will not return to the Nigeria Premier Football League following his departure from Moroccan club Maghreb de Fès. Tanimu cited unfinished business abroad and a desire to continue his career overseas, despite enduring a difficult two-year period.

He previously considered a move back to Nigeria but has opted to evaluate his options carefully as a free agent. Tanimu's contract with Maghreb de Fès was terminated by mutual consent due to a lack of trust in the coaching staff, which limited his playing opportunities.

This decision follows a frustrating spell in England with Crawley Town, where he made only 10 league appearances without becoming a regular starter. Tanimu also had a stint with Bendel Insurance and spent time with Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars, where he faced inconsistencies.

His recent challenges have affected his standing in the Super Eagles setup, where he has earned three caps.
