Chenge Confirmed Youngest Player at WAFCON 2026

Chenge has been confirmed as the youngest player at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, being only 15 years old. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled the final squad lists for the tournament, which will take place in Morocco, featuring 413 players from 16 participating nations.

Chenge is three years younger than Nigeria’s youngest player, goalkeeper Fatima Oloko, who is 18. The oldest players in the tournament are Mali midfielder Fatoumata Diarra and Zambia forward Racheal Nachula, both aged 40.

Nigeria’s oldest player is Osiachi Ohale, who will turn 35 in December. Cameroon striker Gabrielle Aboudi Onguéné is set to make history with her eighth appearance in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the most by any player in the competition's history.

CAF stated that the squad lists reflect the growth of women’s football in Africa and the emergence of new talent, with a notable age gap of 25 years between the oldest and youngest players selected.
