Taraba APC Aspirant Sues Over Exclusion from Congress

Alhaji Haruna Hadi Lau, an aggrieved aspirant for the chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, has taken legal action by approaching the Federal High Court in Jalingo. Lau alleges that he was unjustly excluded from the candidacy process that produced a consensus candidate during the party's recent state congress.

He expressed disappointment over the lack of transparency and fairness in the process, claiming that the committee responsible for conducting the congress did not allow proper engagement for all aspirants. Lau's formal petition seeks redress, as he believes the committee's actions compromised the integrity of the congress.

The APC's state spokesperson, Aaron Artima, has dismissed Lau's allegations, stating that the process followed was appropriate and that no records indicate Lau's claim of purchasing a nomination form through the correct channels. The situation has sparked discontent among party members, raising concerns about the party's future electoral fortunes.
