Taraba APC Denies Claims of Automatic Tickets for Lawmakers

The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports suggesting that Governor Lucki Aiyedatiwa endorsed automatic tickets for serving members of the National Assembly and the Taraba State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections. APC spokesman Aaron Artima described these claims as misleading and inaccurate, stating that no final decisions have been made regarding candidate selection.

He explained that the process to select consensus candidates is ongoing, adhering to the party's internal democratic procedures. Artima noted that three consensus committees across the state’s senatorial zones are consulting stakeholders to ensure transparency and peace in the process.

He urged party members and the public to disregard claims of automatic tickets being granted to serving lawmakers. Meanwhile, there is growing unease in Ondo State due to reports of potential violence surrounding the APC's upcoming primary elections scheduled for May 18-20, as tensions rise among party members.
