Taraba Stakeholders Challenge Governor Kefas on Promises

Stakeholders in Taraba State, represented by the Concerned Taraba Citizens, have raised concerns regarding unfulfilled campaign promises made by Governor Agbu Kefas as he prepares for a second term in the 2027 governorship election. Emmanuel Bello, the Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications to Governor Kefas, asserted that the governor has successfully fulfilled many of his promises, particularly in enhancing state security, which he claims has led to a significant reduction in criminal activities.

Bello emphasized that the governor has also honored commitments in education, health, and agriculture. However, Yakubu Haruna, Executive Director of the stakeholders forum, pointed out that critical promises related to infrastructure, such as road construction and public service improvements, remain unmet despite increased federal allocations to the state, which rose from N64.91 billion in 2022 to N162.47 billion by 2025.

Haruna noted that while not all funds are available for new projects due to statutory obligations, the stakeholders question the achievements of the administration given the larger revenue flows.
