Taraba PDP Calls for Unity After Supreme Court Ruling

The Taraba State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has urged its members to unite following a recent Supreme Court ruling concerning an internal party dispute. In a statement issued on Monday in Jalingo, PDP State Chairman Obidah Jame Bitru described the ruling as legally binding and a critical moment for reflection within the party.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to due process and the party's constitution, which serves the collective interests of individuals within the party. Bitru reaffirmed the principles of internal party processes, stressing transparency and adherence to established guidelines.

He noted that the party's board of trustees had already convened to align with the court's decision and urged members nationwide to respect the legitimate party structure and leadership. Bitru rejected any form of factional leadership and called for reconciliation among aggrieved members, viewing this moment as an opportunity to rebuild and strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.

He announced plans to reinforce internal mechanisms to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines and urged party leaders to intensify grassroots mobilization.
