TCN Clears Encroachments on Ihovbor–Ajaokuta Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) undertook a clearance exercise from February 18 to February 20, 2026, to remove structures that were encroaching on the Ihovbor–Ajaokuta 330kV transmission line in Ihovbor community, Edo State. This operation aimed to reclaim TCN's right of way along the transmission corridor.

Prior to the exercise, TCN organized a sensitization program to highlight the risks associated with encroachments on transmission lines. A three-month notice was provided to the affected community members, ensuring they were informed about the clearance activities.

The clearance team, which included representatives from TCN's corporate headquarters in Abuja and the property department, worked alongside traditional rulers, youth leaders, and other stakeholders to facilitate the process. This action is deemed necessary to protect lives, properties, and safeguard critical power infrastructure along the transmission corridor.
