TCN Enhances National Grid with New Transmission Lines
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully commissioned new transmission lines aimed at strengthening the national grid. The project includes the Ihovbor-Benin and Ihovbor-Ajaokuta 330kV transmission lines, which were commissioned on April 23, 2026.

The Ihovbor-Benin line currently carries 200 megawatts, while the Ihovbor-Ajaokuta line transmits approximately 90 megawatts.
TCN anticipates that this new infrastructure will improve the reliability of electricity supply, reduce transmission constraints in the corridor, and strengthen overall grid performance.
