TCN Refutes AEDC's Claims on Kogi Power Outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) issued a statement countering claims made by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) regarding a power outage affecting the Zango Shetima, Apansed Phase II, and Crown Estate communities in Kogi State. TCN's General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, clarified that the outage was attributed to technical faults within AEDC's network.

TCN stated that its feeder from the Lokoja transmission substation was fully operational at the time of the reported outage and that there were no outages due to scheduled maintenance activities on TCN's transmission infrastructure. TCN dissociated itself entirely from the faults referenced in AEDC's notice and rejected the suggestion that its infrastructure was responsible for the disruptions experienced by consumers.

Mbah reiterated TCN's commitment to transparency and collaboration in service delivery across the electricity value chain and urged sector partners to exercise due diligence to avoid misrepresenting facts that could undermine public confidence in the broader power sector.
