TCN Extends Jos-Gombe Line Maintenance Until June 2026
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced an extension of maintenance work on the Jos-Gombe 330kV single circuit transmission line, which will now continue until June 30, 2026. This extension is necessary to allow the contractor to complete the installation of optical ground wire (OPGW) along the 276-kilometer corridor.
Maintenance will occur from April 9 to April 12, 2026, and resume from May 23 to June 30, 2026. During this period, power supply will be limited from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Thursdays through Sundays, affecting customers of Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) and Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) in Bauchi, Gombe, Damaturu, and Maiduguri.
TCN assures that power supply will be fully restored by the end of the maintenance work. Additionally, TCN has successfully completed maintenance on the Mando-Kumbotso 330kV transmission line in Kano, restoring service at 4:33 PM on May 31, 2026, and has resumed power supply to Gazaoua in the Republic of Niger through Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC).
