The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced the successful restoration of the Benin–Omotosho 330kV transmission line at 7:05 PM on July 2, 2026. This restoration followed the completion of repair and maintenance work on the line, which had been out of service since June 25, 2026, due to a detached conductor section.
Mr. Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, stated that the restoration will enhance electricity supply to the areas served by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) and Eko Electricity Distribution PLC, as well as Ikeja Electric.
He also expressed apologies for the inconvenience caused by the outage and thanked customers and stakeholders for their patience and understanding during the repair process.
