TCN Restores Benin-Omotosho 330kV Line After Outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) successfully restored the Benin–Omotosho 330kV transmission line at 7:05 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, following a week-long outage that began on June 25, 2026. The outage was caused by a detached conductor that disrupted electricity transmission along the corridor.

TCN's engineering team immediately commenced repair work, which included restringing the detached conductor and conducting maintenance to ensure the safe restoration of the line. With the transmission line back in operation, three electricity distribution companies—Benin Electricity Distribution Company, Eko Electricity Distribution PLC, and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company—will be able to receive an increased power supply for distribution to their customers.

TCN expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the outage and thanked affected customers and stakeholders for their patience and cooperation during the repair period. TCN reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a reliable and efficient national transmission network to support improved electricity supply across the country.
