TCN Launches Anti-Vandalism Campaign in Niger State

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has intensified its anti-vandalism campaign in Lambata, Gurara Local Government Area, Niger State, as announced by Ndidi Mbah, General Manager of Public Affairs, on Tuesday. The campaign aims to protect transmission facilities and ensure reliable electricity supply across Nigeria.

Engr. Musa Shuaibu, General Manager of Transmission, noted a significant increase in attacks on transmission infrastructure, which undermines efforts to improve power supply and expand the national transmission network.

Vandalism often results in entire communities being left without electricity, leading to serious implications for critical services like healthcare. Shuaibu warned that vandals risk electrocution and face severe legal consequences.

Alhaji Ibrahim Salihu, the district head, urged residents to embrace TCN's partnership initiatives to protect these facilities. Edward Galadima, representing the Division Police Officer, encouraged community members to report suspicious activities around transmission towers.

The campaign is designed to educate the community on the dangers and economic impacts of vandalism and promote public participation in safeguarding national assets.
