TCN and NSCDC Join Forces Against Vandalism in Katsina

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has formed a partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to combat vandalism and right-of-way encroachment in Katsina State. This collaboration was disclosed by Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, during a visit led by Engr.

The partnership aims to reinforce security measures following recent incidents of vandalism affecting transmission facilities, including the vandalism of towers T219 and T228 along the Katsina-Daura 132kV transmission line. These incidents were discovered during routine patrols and pose a significant threat to the integrity of the transmission network and the stability of electricity supply.

Abba Dan Il Moriki, the state command of NSCDC, confirmed that investigations into these incidents have commenced and assured TCN of continued support and closer coordination to curb vandalism and encroachment proactively.
