TCN and NSCDC Join Forces Against Vandalism in Katsina

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has formed a partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to address the rising challenge of vandalism in the Katsina sub-region. This collaboration aims to enhance the protection of transmission infrastructure following recent incidents, including the vandalism of towers T219 and T228 along the Katsina-Daura 132kV transmission line.

The issues were discovered during routine patrols and have raised significant concerns for TCN, as acts of sabotage threaten the integrity of the transmission network and jeopardize the stability of electricity supply. Usman Idri, the Assistant General Manager of Transmission, commended the NSCDC command for its prompt response to previous security concerns.

Abba Moriki, the state command representative, disclosed that investigations into the incidents have commenced, assuring TCN of continued support and a commitment to closer coordination to curb vandalism and encroachment through proactive measures.
