TCN Strengthens Anti-Vandalism Efforts in Ogun State

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is intensifying its fight against vandalism in Ogun State, having recorded 276 cases of tower vandalism from 2022 to 2025. Adeshina Adeonipekun, the General Manager of TCN's Lagos region, disclosed that the number of incidents is expected to drop significantly in 2026 due to stronger collaborations with community security agencies.

TCN's strategy includes community sensitization programs aimed at protecting critical national infrastructure and maintaining stable power supply across the country. The company is enhancing surveillance around transmission facilities and engaging private vigilante groups in various communities.

TCN is also providing incentives to farmers and residents to encourage cooperation in reporting suspicious activities. Olu Itori, a traditional ruler, and Abdulfatai Akored Akamo commended TCN's sustained sensitization efforts.

Olusola Balogun from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps warned residents against engaging in vandalism, emphasizing that such offenses could lead to imprisonment and significant economic losses.
