TCN and NSCDC Collaborate to Combat Vandalism in Katsina

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has formed a partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Katsina State to combat the growing challenges of vandalism and right-of-way encroachment affecting transmission infrastructure. This collaboration was reinforced during a visit by Engr.

Usman S. Idri, the Assistant General Manager of Transmission, on July 6th.

Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs, stated that TCN commended the NSCDC for its prompt response to previous security concerns. Recent incidents of vandalism, particularly at towers T219 and T228 along the Katsina-Daura 132kV transmission line, were discovered during routine patrols.

TCN emphasized that acts of sabotage threaten the integrity of the transmission network and jeopardize the stability of electricity supply. Abba Dan Il Moriki, the NSCDC Katsina State Command, disclosed that investigations into these incidents have commenced, assuring TCN of continued support and a commitment to enhance information sharing to safeguard the nation's transmission infrastructure.
