Team Nigeria Prepares for 2026 African Championships

Team Nigeria has opened its training camp in preparation for the 2026 African Senior Athletics Championships, which are set to commence on May 12 in Accra, Ghana. The Athletics Federation of Nigeria is intensifying preparations as athletes return from the World Relay in Botswana.

The training activities are expected to begin on Thursday evening at the Yaba College of Technology sports complex. A total of 51 athletes are expected to compete in Ghana, including 24 who have automatically secured their places for the championship and 27 additional athletes invited by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria.
