Afia Media Launches Platform for South East Nigeria's Narratives

Afia Media has unveiled a high-profile intellectual recognition platform aimed at steering the narrative and economic development of the South East region of Nigeria. The initiative, tagged the Afia Annual Lecture Award, is designed to bring together key stakeholders from government, business, academia, culture, and civil society to brainstorm the future of the region.

The event is scheduled to take place in Enugu in the fourth quarter of 2026. Emeka Mba, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Afia Media, stated that the platform represents an organization committed to amplifying the voices and aspirations for development priorities in the South East, which is known for its vibrant entrepreneurial culture.

The event will feature two major segments: a high-level lecture segment and an award gala night to celebrate institutions and individuals making significant strides in the region. Ijeoma Ezeasor, Director of Afia Media, warned that the region risks misrepresentation in an increasingly digital and AI-driven world if it fails to document its own progress.
