Tems Named Executive Producer for 'Children of Blood and Bone'

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Tems has been appointed as the executive producer and curator for the soundtrack album of the film "Children of Blood and Bone," based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel. Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film aims to depict Yoruba mythicism and features an ensemble cast, including Afrobeats star Ayra Starr.

The screenplay was co-written by Tomi Adeyemi and produced by Paramount Pictures. This marks the first time Tems will executive produce a movie soundtrack, having recorded three new songs for the project.

Burna Boy joins as an executive consultant, bringing his expertise to ensure the soundtrack aligns with the film's narrative. The movie follows Zélie Adebola on her quest to restore magic to her people, with a release date set for January 15, 2027.

The soundtrack is described as rooted in Afrobeats, featuring contributions from both Tems and Burna Boy, with Burna Boy’s song "Alone" highlighted as a significant piece.
